Although perhaps one of the Brill Building's less obvious names, Paul Hampton is indelibly linked to one of the most celebrated songwriting duos of the 20th Century, Burt Bacharach and Hal David, as he wrote regularly with both. Whilst he wasn't as prolific as Burt or Hal his work was often of the same quality, and he was a co-writer on some memorable hit songs of the 60s and 70s. However, unlike his occasional collaborators, Hampton also maintained a parallel recording career, cutting a dozen 45s between 1957 and 1962, several of which have gone on to become collectors' items, none more so than the controversial 'Two Hour Honeymoon', a co-write with Bacharach. This compilation features all twelve singles plus, as bonus tracks, ten of Paul's numbers as recorded by Don Gibson, Ral Donner, Jack Scott, Leroy Van Dyke, Johnny Burnette, etc. , which includes a couple of his biggest songs.
