This release is the conclusion of the cpo Michael Haydn Edition. This edition of Michael Haydn's complete symphonies began in 1991 with the Slovak Chamber Orchestra under Bohdan Warchal and continued in 1995 with the German Chamber Orchestra of Neuss under Johannes Goritzki. This final release features Michael Haydn's Symphony No. 13, Notturno No. 1, and Symphony No. 20. A apaity for enthusiasm and an absolute commitment to achievement: these were the outstanding qualities of the musicians who formed the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein forty years ago, and the same traits will be encountered on this release. The idea behind the orchestra has stood the test of four decades, and it continues to perform just as freshly, youthfully, and vibrantly as it did during it's early days- thereby demonstrating the validity of each of it's founding principals, which have developed their own dynamism and have never ceased to evolve.
