In 1939 Helen Forrest joined Benny Goodman as vocalist and her stay lasted 20 months before she moved to Harry James. It was here that Helen was first teamed with Harry's male singer, Dick Haymes, and when both of them were later pursuing solo careers, the Decca label sold millions of their discs in a series of recordings they made together between 1944 and 1946. Many of the tracks here are making their first appearance on compact disc and were recorded during a five year period at the end of the Forties. They consist of a variety of popular tunes of the time including some that were featured either in films or stage shows. Songs from the movies of Betty Hutton and Betty Grable rub shoulders with tunes by Irving Berlin from his current show of the day, 'Miss Liberty'.
