Many bands purporting to play New Orleans Jazz today actually play styles which evolved from it in Chicago & N.Y., but Jerry & his Stompers play it in it's classic form. He's assembled a group of musicians so steeped in the original music they are able to tap into the creative consciousness which produced it's flowering in the mid-1920's. Here, Jerry, Earl Scheelar, Don Kidder, Jim Cumming, Henk Wagner, Ted Thomas, Gordon Wilson & guest Bob Jackson play a hymn, a Waltz in 4/4 time, traditional Blues, New Orleans classics & both well & little-known pop tunes.
