Best known for his songwriting, country folk singer Joe South scored a huge hit in 1970 with “Games People Play” and again in 1971 with “Rose Garden,” a monster hit for Lynn Anderson. Also a prominent sideman, South lent his skills to a wide array of artists from Bob Dylan to Aretha Franklin. Presented here is South’s rare solo album “The Joe South Story,” originally released in 1971 during the height of his popularity. All songs newly remastered.
