Limited silver and black colored vinyl LP pressing. 2023 release. Lebanon Hanover's third studio outing is an iconic record that marks the end of a trilogy of albums released in little more than a year's time, book ended a period of prolific songwriting and DIY production, that effectively captures a sound reminiscent of the underground music heard circa 1981. Tomb for Tomb also features some of the band's most famous songs. With this record, the band cemented their legacy of creating anthems for the disenchanted, defying gender stereotypes and roles, and uniting in solidarity with their fellow outcasts who, together, defy normalcy even in the wake of ostracisation. Gallowdance is perhaps Lebanon Hanover's magnum opus, their most well-known song whose artwork is the de facto logo for the band. It is a bass-driven Memento Mori. A sombre reminder to gather ye roses while ye may, as we all are dancing on the precipice of death, so we might as well dance together. And it is thus that Larissa Iceglass leads us in a defiant reverie, literally dancing with a noose upon her neck in the song's legendary music video. These are songs written about our time's insensitivity and how we need to step outside the digital world and connect as human beings, even if that makes out outsiders. A must-have in every music lovers collection, simply a modern classic of our times.
