Little Walter's mastery of the harmonica is beyond debate. His influence over the blues scene, unparalleled, and no true blues fan can call themselves a collector without a selection of his iconic tracks in their personal collection. Fusing the style of his mentor John Lee Williamson with the jump blues of saxophonist Louis Jordan, Walter created an amplified sound filled with dark, haunting tones and flowing melodic lines that became an integral element in the emergence of Chicago blues. Collected here are a number of his earliest and greatest hits that propelled Little Walter from Muddy Waters' sideman to the summit of the R&B charts, and putting him well on his way to becoming the most commercially successful Chicago blues performer of the postwar era.
