Lynn Anderson was born on 26th September 1947 in Grand Forks North Dakota but raised in California and is responsible for one of the best-known Country songs of all time. The international hit, "Rose Garden" written by Joe South, was No 1 on the country charts in 1970 for 5 weeks and peaked at No 3 on the pop chart as well as achieving top ten status in most countries of the world. Lynn was named female vocalist of the year at the 1971 CMA awards and won a Grammy. The recordings on this collection were made in the early Nineties and show her unique vocal powers undiminished.
