Madera Metal (meaning "Wood and Metal" in Spanish) is the first solo album by the talented Argentinean musician and painter Marina Fages, including 14 songs all composed by herself. The album mainly consists of Fages playing the guitar and charango (South American 10 string instrument) along with her singing, with the concept of exploring her vocal spectrum and melodic lines with experimental inclination on song format. The overall atmosphere sounds very natural and pleasant and together with her charming yet peculiar vocals, they leave a vivid impression. One might recall Juana Molina from her music. The album includes participation by Lucy Patané, Kabusacki, Nacho Czornogas and Martin de Lassaletta (which some of them are established figures in the Argentinean experimental scene), and they deliver magical details and richness to the songs. Very promising artist from the next generation of the ongoing Argentinean scene. Includes full color illustration cards painted by Marina Fages.
