Three CD set. A 'must-have' for the true romantic, these timeless recordings were the fruit of the inspired collaboration between the popular American poet Rod McKuen and the great arranger / vocalist Anita Kerr. This first ever worldwide release on CD of Rod and Anita's trilogy has been long awaited. Rod himself once said that there have been more requests for these San Sebastian Strings masterpieces than any of his own prolific back catalog. It all began with The Sea. When Rod conceived the idea he had not met Anita Kerr; nor had he thought of sharing his work with anyone else. Rod had stated that in Anita he not only had the perfect sounding board, but that she is a composer of such uncommon talent that each association between the two of them had been for him a perfect artistic experience. The Sea was released in 1967. The Earth and The Sky quickly followed. Now, almost five decades on, along with the uplifting, insightful prose and exquisite music of this historic trilogy, you are able to appreciate a remarkable insight into Rod's thoughts and workings into his original Instructions given to Anita Kerr for composing the music.
