Vinyl LP pressing. This electrifying live performance, from a September 1964 concert date in Berlin, is the earliest recording of the full line-up that would become known as Miles' 'Second Great Quintet'; Davis, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony Williams. Recorded in Germany Miles's Quintet graces the stage of the Berlin Philharmonie, only a year after it's opening. With favorites like 'Milestones', 'So What', 'Stella By Starlight', 'Autumn Leaves' and 'Walkin', played by a fab band in top form. This group occupies a seminal place in the history of jazz, and this recording occupies a seminal position in their creative oeuvre. This quintet is still the model for much of today's jazz, and it all began with this record.
