Renowned for it's successful mergers between Jazz and World Music, Jean-Marc Padovani pays tribute to the great jazz drummer Paul Motian (Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Charles Lloyd...), disappeared in 2011, and with whom he had the chance to play in 1996.How to celebrate Paul Motian, and the Armenia of his origins it evokes in most of his compositions, when saxophonist and Occitan? To this question, Padovani responds with great musicality and a rare elegance: saxophone (s) and duduk (Didier Malherbe from Hadouk Trio) unite in melodies that evoke the Jazz as well as Armenia, rhythmic turns as inventive as robust - Claude Tchamitchian (cb), Paul Rousseau (piano) and the breathtaking battery Ramon Lopez). Beyond a very successful tribute, this album reveals a large group again played with a great art of the game borders and directories.
