Well-known from both sides of the Pyrenees to Japan, Pascal Comelade is a Catalan musician living in Dali's country. After living in Barcelona, where he founded his Bel Canto Orquestra in 1985, he released his first album Fluence, on Pole in 1975. This first work was definitely inspired by electronic music, especially by Richard Pinhas's band Heldon. Comelade likes making links between arts, mixing music with graphic design and literature. It is indeed one of composer's first concerns to not stay locked in patterns and codes specific to a style. Painter Robert Combas created the original artwork of Comelade's 1993 album, Traffic d'Abstraction. For this reissue, Combas's second painting, which was on the inside of the original CD booklet, now appears on the back of the main jacket. The selection here also includes only the songs that Comelade judges to be the best from the original album, along with completed versions, alternative versions, and previously unreleased pieces from the same time period as Traffic d'Abstraction. Additionally, the CD includes the animation clip The Skatalan Logicofobism, created by Florence Deygas and Olivier Kuntzel in Paris in 1994. This reissue coincides with Comelade's appearance as a pianist accompanying Robert Combas and Francois Boisrond's visual performance in Paris, Porte de Champerret. Presented in gatefold sleeve. Numbered edition of 500.
