Four CD collection. The death of the legendary Pete Seeger earlier this year awakened many people to the contribution that he made musically, socially and politically to the 20th and 21st centuries. Pete Seeger was one of American Folk music's genuine legends; his influence on other giants of modern music such as Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and Bruce Springsteen was large. His career began in the 1940s and lasted until his death but his most important work came in the 1940s and 1950s, and it is that era that this release concentrates on, with solo performances and many with the Almanac Singers and the Weavers. The 100 tracks on this four CD set celebrates the life of this legendary figure and the notes in the 28 page booklet tells his fascinating story.
