The Piero Piccioni OST for the western movie "La spina dorsale del diavolo" (Aka "The Deserter") comes back on a new expanded CD edition. The movie was directed in 1970 by Burt Kennedy, produced by Dino de Laurentiis, and starring Bekim Fehmiu, Richard Crenna, Chuck Connors, Ricardo Montalban, Ian Bannen, John Huston. A young cavalry officer finds his woman tortured by the Apaches and he blames the Army for not properly protecting the outpost. He becomes a deserter and an avenger, and starts chasing and killing Indians without warning. Piero Piccioni has composed an orchestral OST where he alternates a recurrent adventurous Beat sound main theme with dramatic suspense music and nostalgic love themes. The discovery of the stereo master tapes of the original session, which includes an extra 25 minutes of music, shall be the joy of the Western and Piero Piccioni fans. Deluxe booklet with 16 pages of rare archive photos and memorabilia. Contains 25 Minutes of Previously Unreleased Music.
