2008 compilation from this mid '90s outfit fronted by former Prisoners member Graham Day, one of the most amazing songwriters of his generation, blessed with an incredible voice, and who plays a mean guitar as well. Planet were a power trio who recorded an album and a handful of singles for Acid Jazz's Rock subsidiary Focus. It was a bold attempt to record in Graham's analogue manner, but with a more contemporary feel. Whilst some of the more hard-edged rock influences of the day are definitely present, Graham's songwriting is rooted in the classic 60s influences that inform all. His voice on these recordings is astounding; deep and soulful. This CD contains all the tracks that the band recorded for Focus, including the whole of the Splitting the Humidity LP; four tracks that were exclusive to singles; and the only remix that was attempted on the band. 18 tracks. Big Beat.
