'I get out a couple of Roy Lanham albums and play them. Then I listen to some of my recorded efforts and say, 'Dad blame, buddy, that's awful'.' Merle Travis said that, and it's indicative of the respect in which Roy Lanham was held. He spent most of his life in the studio, but he made two albums one for Sims Records and one for NRC Records both now reissued for the first time. He developed a unique chorded style into which he integrated single-string solos. It was a brilliantly original sound, and any fan of country guitar geniuses like Merle Travis, Jimmy Bryant or Chet Atkins needs to hear Roy Lanham. 24 titles include Summit Ridge Drive, Airmail Special, Tuxedo Junction, Holiday For Strings, Roy's Blues and Under The Double Eagle.
