On The Way' is the debut recording from guitarist Daniel Santiago, who is based in Brazil and at the age of 27, is already considered one of the great guitarists of his generation by people like Hermeto Pascoal, Toninho Horta and Guinga, three masters of Brazilian music. Daniel's atmospheric melodies bring us to the altitudes of Planalto Central (Brasilia's outline, Daniel's hometown) with it's 180 degrees of blue, the vastness of the land, the waterfalls, and the modern designs by Oscar Niemeyer, Lucio Costa, Athos Bulcao and their contemporaries, in creating some of Brazil's most famous architecture Santiago has played with such notables as Joao Bosco, Ivan Lins, Toninho Horta, Guinga, Leila Pinheiro, Zelia Duncan and Ed Motta, just to name a few, and he continues to perform worldwide as a member of the acclaimed Hamilton de Holanda Quintet, who will release their debut CD on Adventure Music on July 11th of this year (and available here at CD BABY). 'On The Way' was recorded in just a few shorts days this year in Brazil and produced by mandolinist Hamilton de Holanda, features some of Brazil's most well respected instrumentalists and showcases Daniel's incredible gift as a composer, a world class guitarist and a wonderful arranger.
