Friedrich Silcher (1789-1860) wrote song movements for more than 300 works and is thus still a household name especially for choir singers. During his lifetime he was not only considered a competent composer and arranger, but also an excellent music teacher. His arrangements of Christmas and Advent carols, with their pleasant simplicity, are also immediately accessible to the listener and develop an irresistible magic in a completely natural way.
