American Country & Western singer and songwriter Eugene "Smokey" Rogers, who rose to fame in the 1940’s and 1950’s both as a songwriter and a member of Tex Williams’ Western Caravan, is featured here with a rare solo album originally released in 1976 on Jimmy Wakely’s Shasta Records. The album features Smokey singing many classic C&W hits including the hit “Gone” that he penned for Ferlin Huskey in 1952. All selections have been newly remastered.
