Digitally re-mastered edition of this 1961 recording. The Sound of Music, brings US the last of the magnificent scores from the pens of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Ever since 1943, the collaboration of this magical team created Oklahoma, Carousel, State Fair, Allegro, South Pacific, the King & I, Me and Juliet, Pipe Dream, Cinderella, and Flower Drum Song. The Australian production of the Sound of Music opened and recorded at Melbourne's Princess Theatre in 1961 and ran for three years with a cast headed by the talented Australian soprano June Bronhill. This recording was the first time a major overseas production featuring Australian artists was transferred to disc. Stage Door.
