Stella Skinner Quartet performs music written by the guitarist, Stella. Her group combines the talents of Sam Keevers (piano) and Tony Floyd (drums) with another emerging young talent, Alex Yeap (acoustic bass). The group have been performing around Melbourne at venues like Paris Cat, Bennett's Lane and Lebowski's to enthusiastic audiences, with each concert the ensembles connection strengthens, expanding the material whilst creating beautiful music. The youthful jazz lines of Skinner, with Keevers' accompaniment are a great mix. The compositions are very lyrical and harmonically rich, developing into great improvisational adventures. The quartet's album also features Cellist Imogin Manins on one of Skinners compositions. Manins' unique voice and ensemble work provide additional color to the groups sound that culminates into a joyous and satisfying musical experience.
