Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Santana's 7th album (1976), in which Santana - who had been leaning toward spiritual and phantasmic jazz fusion - made a long-awaited return to Latin rock, the world's first SA-CD multi-channel hybrid edition has finally arrived! While the approach to funk music through Santana's characteristically primitive and dynamically charged band ensemble is also outstanding, the undisputed highlight of this work is the landmark sensual guitar instrumental "Europa (Earth's Cry Heaven's Smile)," and it was this hit that established Santana's signature melancholic instrumental style. Furthermore, this album features artwork by Tadanori Yokoo for the second time, following "Lotus."
