UK collection. Written by a pre-fame David Gates and produced by arch eccentric Kim Fowley at Gold Star Studios in Hollywood, The Murmaids' recording of 'Popsicles And Icicles' was one of the smash hits of 1963, girl group ground zero. Their follow-up, 'Heartbreak Ahead', was the nearest the teenage trio came to another hit, and they disbanded after their next single. Various different singers were heard on three later releases, while an album, featuring tracks recorded circa 1964, eventually appeared in 1980. Titled after a line in their famous hit, A Few Of The Things We Love includes the group's complete recordings for the Chattahoochee label, many of which have not appeared on CD before, including one featuring lead vocals by Jackie DeShannon. Highlights include 'Wild And Wonderful' (a song intended for Lesley Gore), the folk rock-style 'Go Away' and an unlikely cover of Traffic's 'Paper Sun', issued on Liberty in 1968.
