2013 CD EP from this Pop outfit featuring Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) and Joe Pernice (The Pernice Brothers). Finding themselves new neighbors in Canada, Glasgow-born Norman Blake and Joe Pernice from Massachusetts began a low-key collaboration in a Toronto tavern. Their performances were marked by plenty of banter, open-tunings and sublime pop smarts. A rendezvous swiftly arranged, 'Within minutes of hanging out in my kitchen we were booking recording dates' says Joe, the pair making their live debut with low-key public performances in a Toronto tavern - shows marked by plenty of banter, open-tunings and sublime pop smarts. Joined by Mike Beliskyof the Sadies on drums, the band crystallized as The New Mendicants and the trio are currently recording a debut album together for release in early 2014.
