Originally formed in 1948, The Weavers were an extremely popular folk group for four years until getting caught up in the entertainment industry blacklist, with Pete Seeger being found guilty of contempt after refusing to answer questions posed by a House Committee. In the aftermath, The Weavers found their entire catalogue deleted by their record company and the group unable to find live work. They disbanded but reformed in 1955 for a sold-out Carnegie Hall concert, prompting a revival that saw them achieve greater success. This album is a recording of that reunion concert, featuring the first half of a triumphant return to form.
