The brother of Johnny Cash guitarist Luther Perkins, Thomas was 18 when he recorded the 1959 smash "Tragedy." Sadly, his story ended in tragedy when a car crash took his life at age 31; this multi-label comp collects all his known 1958-62 recordings: "Tragedy" and his other 1959 hit, "Eternally," plus "Girl Next Door" (you'll hear his original plus Elvis Presley's cover as a bonus; similarly, this CD includes the Fleetwoods' hit cover of "Tragedy" and Thomas's original version of "This Time" plus Troy Shondell's smash cover), "Just Beyond," "Stop the River," "Guilty of Love" and more!
