Culled from vintage rare tracks mostly from the 1970's, this compilation features a dozen rare smooth and funky jams from a wide variety of classic artists who were at the forefront of the soul jazz idiom including Hank Crawford, Stanley Turrentine, Calvin Newborn, Richard "Groove" Holmes, Jon Faddis, Grant Green, Cornell Dupree, Sir Edward (alias Harold Vick), Seldon Powell, Buster Williams, Little Beaver and Bobby Forester. Tracks include George Benson's "Breezin'," "How Deep Is Your Love," "Alfie" and Al Green's classic "Let's Stay Together." All selections have been newly remastered.
