These are Paramount Hot Dance Obscurities rare sides (the first volume) recorded by the New York Recording Laboratories for issue on it's Broadway and Paramount labels. This CD includes the best of the sides recorded by Bill Haid's Cubs and related bands such as the Midnight Serenaders, Castle Farms Serenaders and the Black Pirates. Extensive liner notes by Paramount researcher Alex van der Tuuk and 1920s jazz expert Joel O'Sickey.
