The German recorder player Susanne Fröhlich presents an innovative album, taking the alleged Baroque instrument into the 21st century. Taking Peter Hannan's RSCH 12/84 - Dream from 1984 as starting point, this recording culminates in a 24-minute joint composition of Fröhlich herself and Gerriet K. Sharma. The bonus album contains the same music, but with spoken English introductions from the artist herself. This is an album not to be missed if you are curious to explore extended playing techniques and a fresh approach to contemporary music. Susanne Fröhlich (b. 1979 in Passau, Germany) studied the recorder with P.T. Leenhouts at Amsterdam Conservatory, where she obtained an artistic-pedagogical diploma and, subsequently, a Master of Music Diploma with distinction in 2004. She went on to study with Prof. G. Lünenbürger at the Berlin University of Arts, where she obtained her "Konzertexamen" diploma with distinction in June 2008. Since April 2015 she is studying Helder Tenor recorder with J. Fischer at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt and since October 2015 she is doing a artistic-scientific research at the Kunstuni Graz.
