The songwriting team Weinhold/Marx hit the band's style on the head even more, while drawing the arc to the first Velvet Viper album (released in 1990) with numerous up-tempo songs! The sound produced by Tommy Newton at the Area 51 Recording Studios is even heavier and more distinct than on the previous album, "Respice Finem", and reflects the live sound of the band perfectly. As usual, the lyrics cover themes and topics from the realm of fantasy, but also refer to literary topics such as Shakespeare's »King Lear« ("The Wheel Has Come Full Circle") or Richard Wagner's »The Ring of the Nibelung« ("Götterdämmerung"). The song "Samson And Delilah" covers the story of the invincible rebel and is inspired by the story from the Bible, whereas "One-Eyed Ruler" is based on the Norse mythology and the tale of Odin who sacrificed his eye. All songs perfectly fit to the epic and often also dark old-school heavy metal Velvet Viper offer on their new album.
