With this, his second contribution to the Vivaldi Edition, Fabio Biondi and his ensemble Europa Galante have recorded the nineteenth opera of the collection - a pasticcio such as was common in that period, with Vivaldi recycling celebrated arias from the operas of his contemporaries. This work, composed in 1730 for Vienna and Prague, certainly deserves to escape from the oblivion it fell into after the loss of Vivaldi's score. A meticulous work of reconstruction led by Bernardo Ticci, expert in every detail concerning Vivaldi's music, explored several sources dispersed throughout Eastern Europe: the libretti of two productions, a collection of arias, and an anonymous opera supplemented with arias by Galeazzi, Pescetti, Hasse, Fiorè, Porpora and Vinci. This is the version of the pasticcio recreated and recorded here.
