Although the oboe repertoire is comparatively rich, Clara Dent wanted to record a new program customized for her talents. Fascinated by the direct expression of the singing voice in opera, she asked Andreas N. Tarkmann to arrange an entire program of arias for her; the resulting album is La Prima Donna. Berlin-born Clara Dent began oboe studies at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, finishing at Munich's Hochschule für Musik.Ms. Dent has been Solo Oboist of the Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchestra Berlin since 1999, and professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Nürnberg since 2009.
