Erstwhile druggie, drifter, storyteller, taxi-driver, recovering Pentecostal maverick from Pensacola, Florida. It's the 20th anniversary of Jim White's haunting outer space alt. Country classic that has a title so long nobody can remember the name of it. Featuring Aimee Mann, M. Ward, Bill Frisell and the Barenaked Ladies-to name a few of the artists here-this album quickly rose to cult status. Pitchfork gave it an 8. 1 and said, "White has enough guest musicians on this to populate any number of small towns. " They also said, "You won't hear another record like it this year, possibly ever. What all these disparate elements that White pulls together add up to is White's alone, a style with no real name, American as barbecue sauce on apple pie. " Now it's on vinyl for the first time, pressed on Substrate Black in a gatefold jacket. And because he wasn't wordy enough the first time around, Jim's added THREE EXTRA TRACKS.
