This album comprises world premiere recordings of works by Ralph Vaughan Williams arranged for two pianos by musicians who worked closely with the composer, Michael Mullinar, Vally Lasker, Helen Bidder, and Maurice Jacobson. The Fifth Symphony manuscript bears many amendments and annotations in Vaughan Williams's own hand, and the recording offers the work with new clarity and fresh insight. The British piano duo Goldstone and Clemmow consists of internationally known artists Anthony Goldstone and Caroline Clemmow. They have been recording together, to widespread acclaim, for more than three decades.
