With his signature, instantly-identifiable finger-picking playing style, CHET ATKINS - aka Mr Guitar or The Country Gentleman - was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th Century. In a fifty-plus year recording career he cut more than 100 albums, across a vast range of musical styles, and produced countless hit records. As a picker, he was a key member of the legendary Nashville A?Team, while as a producer he is acknowledged as the chief architect of The Nashville Sound. This compilation looks at Chet's work as a session player between 1950 and 1960, and presents an eclectic body of work, taking in mainstream Pop alongside traditional Hillbilly and Country, even straying into Rockabilly. Featured artists include Hank Williams, Elvis, Janis Martin, The Everly Brothers, Hank Locklin, Don Gibson, Jim Reeves, etc
