24 track CD opens with a number of remakes - "Shady Lady Bird" and "Buckle Down, Winsocki," both from the show "Best Foot Forward." The two tracks on this CD by Goodman's completely reshuffled sextet are charming, and two dates from Nov. 1941 feature Peggy Lee at length. Although not all her songs were strictly out of the top drawer, she stands out on Gershwin's magnificent "How Long Has This Been Going On." Benny's new male vocalist Art London (better known as Art Lund) featured here was of course no rival for Tommy Dorsey's Frank Sinatra, although this was Goodman's intention. Lund's dramatic "You Don't Know What Love Is" and the more light-hearted "Someone's Been Rockin' My Dreamboat" are among the best tracks he made with Goodman.
