Bobby Troup, the American actor, jazz pianist, singer and songwriter was best known for composing standards such as ROUTE 66, DADDY, and for his role as Dr Joe Early in the 1970s TV series EMERGENCY in which he co-starred with his wife, actress singer Julie London. He recorded for Liberty Records in the 1950s, many with noted musicians from the West Coast jazz scene, and of the 2 LPs featured on this CD twofer, DO-RE-MI has Troup singing his own compositions DADDY, ROUTE 66, BABY, BABY ALL THE TIME etc. The second LP, HERE'S TO MY LADY has Troup singing standards such as THAT'S ALL, THE NEARNESS OF YOU, and JULIE IS HER NAME, a song he wrote for Julie London. Both LPs are digitally re-mastered and making their CD debut here.
