Caterina Valente was born into an Italian circus family and from the age of three was on stage performing in cabaret, vaudeville, theaters and circuses in Europe. Featuring her hits 'Malaguena' and 'Andalucía', which with an English lyric became by Al Stillman, the big American hit 'The Breeze and I'.
