Tenor Saxophonist Ernie Krivda's new recording Requiem for a Jazz Lady, presents a program of six originals and a classic standard that reflect a narrative on the music and times of a period of Cleveland Jazz History. It also includes the narrative itself in the CD package in the form of a short story complete with pictures and descriptions of a jazz scene that flourished in the 1950-60's 105th and Euclid area on Cleveland's Eastside. This scene was not only the leading center of Cleveland's Jazz life, it became the center of Krivda's youth and his first introduction to the Jazz life, it's drama, it's players and the echoes of an era that still haunt him. Requiem For a Jazz Lady is a living legacy of a lost era that lives in the music of this musician who lived it.
