Hailing from "the hardest hood in Waco," the young rapper shuffled in and out of juvenile detention centers through his teenage years. Still, Hotboy Wes took every opportunity possible to freestyle on social media, building a loyal audience and regularly cracking over 100K views. Following a bid in penitentiary, Hotboy Wes came home and cooked up 2019's Never Had Shit mixtape, featuring the breakthrough track, "I Can't," which quickly eclipsed 2M views and increased his buzz throughout the industry.
