Since he first broke out on his own in 1956, Tenor saxophonist Jay Orlando has played big band swing, Dixieland dance music, country music, rock 'n' roll and symphonic music. A much in-demand session player, Orlando has appeared on many recordings and was a featured soloist on Willie Nelson's 1995 album "Augusta." Presented here is Orlando's classic 1978 recording of jazz classics, "In a Mellow Tone," featuring his tenor saxophone with Lou Levy (piano); Fred Atwood (bass) and John Dentz (drums).
