Produced and mixed by Paul Butler (St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Michael Kiwanuka), Kindness, A Rebel features some of River Whyless' most dynamic and heartfelt material yet. The album goes beyond the divide of our current political and societal state, as the band tries to understand what things are happening in our world, why, and how they can help to make it better. This is River Whyless's follow-up to their 2016 album We All The Light, which was an unexpected break-out success for the Asheville, NC quartet who feature three lead-vocalists and a wide variety of instrumentation in their palette. Lead cut "Born in the Right Country" is a song about the cosmic luck of one born into a society which accepts them as that unique individual, spoken through the eyes of our president and the narrator.
