The Vienna-based trio get an adrenalin shot on their second album. Shampoo Boy, the improvisatory outfit comprising Editions Mego boss Peter Rehberg, Christina Nemec of comfortzone and Christian Schachinger, have returned to Blackest Ever Black after 2013's Licht with a new album titled Crack. Billed by the label as "harrowing but energising", the three-track album sees Shampoo Boy expand their monolithic sound and open up their blasted soundscapes to more space and detail, assisted by mastering engineer and experienced noisemonger Russell Haswell. The result is "a powerful alloy of extreme electroacoustic music, luminous ambience and the mineral fundaments of rock and black metal," adds the label. The album is housed in full colour matt laminate sleeve with black paper inner, with artwork by Dave Coppenhall.
