Digitally remastered and expanded edition including nine bonus tracks. Contains Stéphane Grappelli's complete 1962 album Django featuring the exceptional jazz violinist in a quartet format with the backing of guitar, bass and drums. A homage to his ex-partner Django Reinhardt, who had died in 1953, this LP contains Grappelli's only existing version of the classic John Lewis composition 'Django'. As a bonus, we have added nine extra quartet performances by the violinist. Four of these tracks feature Grappelli playing Django Reinhardt's compositions with Henri Crolla on guitar, while another one showcases Stéphane with Django's brother, Joseph, on guitar. The last four tunes were recorded live and appear here for the first time ever on CD. They include two further versions of Reinhardt's most famous composition, 'Nuages', which was also included on our primary LP. American Jazz Classics.
