Seizing any spare time he could spare, Ike would gather his band and head to a nearby studio, where they would record this collection of funky soul jams. These 12 remarkable tracks delved into a previously unknown facet of Ike's musicality, unveiling a fresh perspective on his immense talent on tracks including "Thinking Black", "Getting Nasty" (featuring the piano skills of Billy Preston), "Scotty Souling", "Nuttin' Up" and, "Funky Mule."
